I’m Robert E. Blackmon-raised in Detroit, author, lifestyle specialist, media personality and founder of Blackmon & Bougie.
For more than 30 years, my work has taken me across fashion, food, home, entertaining, travel and media. From designing dresses to interviewing celebrities, writing books and sharing everyday lifestyle ideas, I’ve always been interested in what makes an experience memorable—and how to bring that feeling home.
I’ve spent those years traveling the world, working in Hollywood, meeting and interviewing celebrities, and experiencing some of the best things in life. Along the way, I’ve learned that those experiences don’t define who you are, and you don’t need them to feel complete. What I do through Blackmon & Bougie is capture the feelings those experiences can bring—the pleasure, the confidence, the sense of discovery—and package them for you to enjoy and explore in your own way.
Those experiences have shaped my eye for detail: how a room welcomes you, how clothing changes the way you carry yourself, how a fragrance becomes part of a memory. What I bring to you is a lifetime of exploring those connections and making them useful in your own life.
I believe living well doesn’t have to be expensive. When something costs a lot, I ask myself: Is it worth it to me, or am I simply afraid of missing out? I know my own taste. A price tag, a list of scent notes or the latest trend doesn’t make that decision for me. I choose what I like and what feels right for my life.
